About This Cause
Cornerstone Evangelistic Ministry was established to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to help alleviate poverty in Kenya. It operates in six marginalized counties in Kenya. Its mission statement is to reach the yet unreached with the Word of God.
The mission has a strong commitment to local churches as the instrument for Christian growth and outreach. Full-time and part-time workers help evangelical churches get involved in missions within their own localities by equipping local pastors and lay people with training and materials. CEM also provides Christian literature and Bible correspondence courses in several tribal languages, trains soul winners in local churches, conducts youth camps and evangelism seminars, helps children from disadvantaged families, and sends missionaries to places unreached by the Gospel. In addition, the mission holds Christian film shows, Gospel crusades, and conducts home to home evangelism. Humanitarian support is also extended by providing clean water to communities through wells, providing relief to Christian families in times of need, and training Christians on sustainable life-changing skills.
By God’s grace, the mission has planted hundreds of churches. New churches continue to be planted in areas unreached by the Gospel. Presently, Cornerstone is reaching out to the following people groups: Samburu, Turkana, Ndorobo, Rendille, Borana, Kenyan Somali, Bulji, Gabra, Malakote, Tharaka, Maasai, Aembu, Kamba, Mijikenda, Giriama, and El Molo.
